    Not a lot that really qualifies as News… the Covid crisis continues to impact just about every aspect of my business. FedEx is still doing a good job delivering all orders going outside of Germany and DH continues to handle all German orders reliably. I will be making more Leafstorm 9 and Westwind folders before Christmas and posting them for sale when they’re done. Thanks to everyone who has continued to purchase knives and keep me in business during these trying times!

    The fires in California, Washington and Oregon are causing shipping delays to those states. Also the Hurricanes along the Gulf Coast are a problem. Contact me before ordering if you have questions. Basically, FedEx has been doing a great job getting all orders delivered in a timely manner.

    Back from a week at the lake in Mark Brandenburg, refreshed and slightly sunburned. Business operations and shipping are back to normal.

    No packages will ship out between August 11 and August 18. I will be taking the week off.

    FedEx is doing a great job getting orders delivered in a timely manner. Of course that does have it’s price but in the end it isn’t that much more than DHL to many countries and at least now, when you buy something, you get the damn package without waiting two months. Inside Germany, DHL is still doing great job. Their big problems with international orders is twofold: One, they lack heir own fleet of planes and rely on normal passenger flights which as we know are still hardly in the air. Two, once in country, the package is actually carried out and delivered by the local postal service. Nuff said there.

    Hard to know where to start with this one! First, I want to apologize for all the shipping problems that started in May. I have been using DHL Germany for international orders. Unfortunately they don’t have their own planes and hand everything off off the US Postal Service for delivery in the USA. This was no longer working out. As of the 1st of July, FedEx is handling all of my international orders and this is making a world of difference. Delivery times are generally under 5 days even though FedEx is also under pressure from the Covid 19 crisis. I have spent so much time in the last month trying to get shipments traced, located, etc. Hopefully I can now spend more time on new products. I am also ruing a 50% Off Sale on my webshop.     DHL informed me that packages to Canada are now shipping normally EXCEPT! they are all going by ship!! Not by air and that it may take a while. I kid you not. Canadian customers expect it to take 4-6 weeks maybe more…

    My finger is almost healed, finally getting back to normal work in the workshop. Resolution: Always listen to the little voice in my head when it says, “No more grinding today! Go Home!” 😉

    I managed to grind off some of a finger tip on a 60 grit grinding belt. Ouch. Don’t ever do that! Got a Tetanus booster and the finger is healing fine. Will not be able to do any grinding until early June.

    DHL is now picking up at my workshop, saving me facing the hoards at the Post. Depending on the order volume, pick ups are made once or twice a week. Shipping to the USA is still only possible via DHL Premium. I hope German Post will resume Warenpost (Commercial Post) shipments in June and I can once again offer the €15 flat-rate. Until then, €35 is the rate to the USA. Trackable and insured, of course.
